How are predictions generated?
Our predictions are generated by machine learning models trained on prior game data, team statistics, player performance metrics, and multiple custom features designed over years and modelled over thousands of games. Many of these features are unique to ClutchTip's primary algorithm. The algorithm is continuously refined based on performance.
Why show backtest AND live accuracy separately?
Backtest accuracy (testing on historical data) is always higher than live performance - that's normal for any predictive model. Our backtest shows 95.51% on 787 games (v2.7+) and holds above 95% across a four-season validation of 4,497 games; our live accuracy runs at 69.0% overall, with PREMIUM tier picks at 81%. We show both because hiding this distinction would be dishonest.
What does "pre-game only" mean?
All predictions are locked as at the time of upload. While all efforts are made to be as accurate as possible, we cannot account for last minute team changes made after the point of upload. We never claim to have "known about" injuries or lineup changes after the fact.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. All subscriptions are month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel anytime from your account dashboard and you'll retain access until the end of your billing period.
What can I use these predictions for?
ClutchTip provides predictions and analysis for entertainment and informational purposes only. How you use this information is entirely your responsibility. We don't facilitate or endorse any particular use.
What sports do you cover?
NBA predictions are live now. NHL, College Basketball, and MLB models are in development and rolling out soon. Subscribe to stay updated on new sport launches.
How do I access my predictions?
After subscribing, log in to access your dashboard. Daily predictions are posted before games start, giving you time to review before tip-off. You can access both H2H team predictions and player props from the dashboard.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe. Your payment information is never stored on our servers.
